Evaluation of Resistance of Phytopathogenic Bacteria to Agricultural Antibiotics

چکیده

Agricultural antibiotics are widely used to inhibit the growth of phytopathogenic bacteria involved in plant diseases. However, continuous antibiotic overuse crop production may lead development resistance bacteria. This study was conducted evaluate three different agricultural (oxytetracycline+streptomycin, streptomycin, and validamycin A) 91 strains including Pectobacterium carotovorum, Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae, Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. michiganensis, C. capsici, Xanthomonas arboricola pruni. Bacterial presence various concentrations A also assessed spectrophotometrically by analyzing optical density. All did not grow when cells were exposed oxytetracycline+streptomycin or 100× streptomycin. among strains, 4% 2% showed bacterial at 1× 10× respectively. Furthermore, 97%, 93%, 73% resistant 1×, 10×, A, respectively, especially, P. carotovorum contained highest A. Minimum bactericidal concentration values correlate with patterns resistance. Further studies needed understand incidence

Sensitivity distribution of phytopathogenic bacteria and fungi to antibiotics.

The minimal inhibitory concentrations (MIC) of various antibiotics and fungicides for Erwinia carotovora, Pseudomonas coronafaciens var. atropurpurea, P. lachrymans, Alternaria mali, A. kikuchiana, Pyricularia oryzae, Botrytis sp. and Sclerotinia sp. isolated from diseased plants in various localities of Japan were examined to enable the isolates to be gruoped into sensitive and resistant strai...

Non-antibiotics reverse resistance of bacteria to antibiotics.

BACKGROUND Most clinical isolates that exhibit a multi-drug resistant phenotype owe that resistance to over-expressed efflux pumps. Compounds that are efflux pump inhibitors (EPIs) reduce or reverse resistance to antibiotics to which the bacterial strain is initially resistant. We have evaluated non-antibiotics to reduce resistance of commonly encountered bacterial pathogens to antibiotics. M...

Vesicles-mediated resistance to antibiotics in bacteria

During the past few decades, antibiotic-resistance of bacteria has assumed the proportion of a global crisis. The discovery of new antibiotics is not matching the rate of emergence of resistant strains thus narrowing the scope of chemotherapy. Notwithstanding the fact that emergence of resistance is facilitated by the use of antibiotics (Levy, 2002) exposure to antibiotics is not a pre-requisit...

Reporting sensitivity and resistance of bacteria to antibiotics.

To the Editor: Once again I call upon Infection Control and Hospital Epidewliology to assist in the resolution of a problem that probably concerns infection control and pharmacy therapeutics committees in acute hospital settings compared with long-term skilled nursing facilities. In reporting sensitivity and resistance of bacteria to antibiotics, it is either as the values of minimum inhibitory...
